Introducing the Pocket Projector
Geeks are rejoicing everywhere because 3M just invented a projector that fits in your pocket. This is something that was expected to be invented and make some money for quite a number of years now and it has finally arrived. It is probably going to be a part of the standard equipment in the briefcase of every middle management type that knows a Power Point program. It is just going to be a very handy item if you make presentations of any kind. Furthermore these project projectors promise to get more and more affordable over the years.
This gadget fits nicely into the palm of your hand. It is called the MPro 110 mini projector. Once you plug it into a DVD player you can watch any movie using it. All you need to do is aim it at a white area like a desk top or all. You can also project it well on an average and ordinary 8.5 by 11 inch piece of printer paper.
This projector has been available in Germany for quite a while. North America has yet to keep up with it. It is a very high quality unit but it will not project a clear image once you start projecting anything that is more than eleven inches across. However if you project less than that you can get great images even under very bright fluorescent lights.
In a dark room most people who tested out this device found it to create a crisp and clear image. It has already been heralded as the ultimate inexpensive home theatre. This projector sells for a mere $359.00. It does not have a speaker which may seem like a drawback but when you think about it, a speaker to go with this type of projector would not really be loud enough to have great sound in the first place.
This is not a very impressive looking gadget because ultimately it is just a grey box. Basically a VGA input lets you plug it in a laptop and the composite video jack will take output form a digital camera, iPod, PSP, iPhone or almost any handheld device. There is a thumbwheel on the front of the gadget chassis to allow you to focus the image as you please as it is being projected on the wall.
This technology was expected for ages and since the release of this 3M version of the project projector, two other companies, Microvision and Texas Instruments have also been developing a micro-projector complete with microscopic mirrors, lasers, Light Blue Optics, holograms and other bells and whistles. However they are more expensive then the 3M version which uses an LED lamp and the LCD technology that has always been part and parcel of much larger projectors.
As the technology improves on these devices we are going to find them replacing the laptops and desktops that were formerly used to make Power Point Presentations.

The iPod does not seem like it has been around very long but it does have quite a history.
Unless you have been locked in a cave the last ten years you know that the iPod is the brand name of a media player created by the famous Apple Group. The gadget is basically a landmark invention in the world of portable music players. They are a status symbol and various models are more expensive than others. They have dropped considerably since the first iPod series of products was launched on October 23, 2001.Nowadays we can get a variety of different types including the Touch, Classic, Nano, and Shuffle types.
The difference between the types has to do mainly with their features.
Many young people are passionate about iPod and take it as a fashion symbol. Nowadays, an iPod no longer costs as much as before, and wholesale iPod models have turned out a more and more profitable business. For example, iPod Touch enables a touch screen feature and iPod Nano supports videos. Popularly-known features of major models of iPod include the sleek body, portability, the simple interface and the scroll wheel.
Among all, models in the iPod family are especially well-known for their user-friendly interface. Even young children and old people can easily learn how to operate any kind of iPod model. The simple interface and the scroll wheel have made it easy for anyone to navigate its major functions
The iPod was a landmark invention because it did not use cassettes or cds. This was a big departure from Walkmans. The iPods used a built in hard drive to store media instead.
Two years ago, Apple released the multi-feature smartphone iPhone in the U.S.. This landmark cell phone is in fact a combination of two devices: a cellular phone and an iPod. Since then the first iPod model with touch screen, the iPod touch, has been invented. This has a , multi-touch graphical touch screen function of iPhone. Furthermore, the iPod touch is also the first iPod model enabling Internet access via the Wi-Fi capacities. From this tendency, we can see that Apple is trying to turn the iPod from simply a portable media player into a PC-based multi-media player which supports music files, Internet capacities.

Futuristic Kitchen Trends

Today’s gleaming metal kitchens are decidedly high tech. There are some appliances and gadgets coming out this fall that are really exceptional especially in terms of their versatility and also their speed of being able to create entire meals in the blink of an eye.
September, General Electric will be offering the new Profile oven with Innovation technology. It’s the closest anyone has come to the smart oven of the future. The oven has been programmed to determine how best to cook certain foods, by a combination of thermal, convection and microwave energies. It still can’t deliver a big cake at the touch of a button (like you would see on a show like the Jetsons), but this remarkably fast and good looking hight the oven can cook a 22-pound turkey in less than two hours. Gone are those long Thanksgiving days where it takes you seventeen hours to cook the turkey and get all of the fixings together.
The famous electronics company Samsung is also conspiring to turn your refrigerator into an entertainment center. They have a made a key unit called a Home Pad which allows all the functions of the internet without a computer. A “Messenger feature” lets family members communicate using a text, voice or video memo. You can plug it into your television to get a big display or you can wirelessly connect it to a DVD player.
In theory the home pad itself could be connected into any appliance that you choose. Even your furnace or toilet or shower stall could have a home pad type device installed into it.
Refrigerators are also how stoves. Last year Whirlpool introduced Polara which is a combination refrigerator and cooking range. You can program it just like VCR to do things like keep your food cool for twenty four hours and then start heating it up just in time of you to get home for dinner. This is as close to Star Trek food as we are going to get in the near future. We are still decades away from pushing one button and having a full cup cake pop out within seconds.
Futuristic kitchens aren’t just for adults. This past July Mattel introduced a super sophisticated culinary toy called Bribe Mixing’ Magic Real Food Kitchen. It is thirty dollars and it feature a blender for making smoothies, a refrigerator with a water dispenser, an electric mixer and a toy oven with a timer that lights right up. This is just like having a real kitchen and little girls who get these are going to develop the desire to have state of the art kitchens early in life. The old fashioned gas stove will just not do anymore. When it comes to cooking it is just too slow!
