The Latest in TV Mounts
One of the biggest trends in technology is having huge flat television screens everywhere. You can have a television screen in your bedroom, kitchen, above the bathtub – just about anywhere you want in a room.
There are all kinds of different wall mounts available right now – there are flat wall mounts, tilt wall mounts and wall arm mounts. Of course putting up this type of thing is never as simple as you would like. You first need to decide where in your home these mounts are going to go and how many you are going to put up. You should also make sure that you are putting them up in a sturdy place and where there are solid studs. There is no sense risking having your expensive flat screen televisions falling down off the wall because they were not mounted securely.
Today there are all kinds of kits that can be bought so that you can mount these gadgets securely and safely. First of all there are flat wall mounts which are the most basic of all the different types of wall mounts. These are limited though because you can’t adjust the tilt or height of the television screen.
Tilt wall mounts are more flexible because they allow you to flip the angle of your television up from a basic flat wall. Make sure that if you are buying this type of wall mount gadget that you can adjust the degree of tilt while the television is actually mounted. On cheaper wall mounting units the challenge is that you have to remove the screen before making any kinds of adjustments. Two good brands for this type of flexible mount are Peerless and Premier Mounts.
Wall arm mounts are the high end and most versatile choice in television mount gadgets. These are also called “articulating” arms because you can position them however you like. They allow you to move the set up and down but also from side to side.
Articulating wall arm mounts are your best choice for gaming because you often need to have the screen closer than you do while watching television.
There are also other styles of mounts but they are harder to install. You can get ones that hang right from the ceiling but often you need a professional to install those ones.
Another challenge is that not all mounts fit all television flat screen panels even though they might be described as being universal mounts. The truth is that not all fit all flat screens so be sure to check this carefully with the manufacturer directions before you buy. Every mount that is named Universal still may not be compatible with every single television that says it falls within its size range. The place you are buying the flat screen mounts from should be able to tell you which ones fit with which television.
