Guys love gizmos and here is a look at the latest high tech goodies that they can choose from to make their lives seem better than ever.
If the boy is really macho he might really appreciate the ClickFree HD35 which is a portable back up system for your PC. This is just a little gizmo for forgetful types who have never thought about making backups of their files but it is about time that they did. Simply plug this Clickfree into your PC and it automatically locates and makes backup copies of Microsoft Office files, e-mail, photos, videos, music and even more. The just-released HD325 model has 320 GB of capacity which enough to store the info on ten computers. You can store everything on it including digital photos, documents and MP3s.
In the grooming department there is the highest of high end Panasonic shavers. The Panasonic Pro-Curve Arc IV Nano Blade Shaver is state of the art. Furthermore it looks like one of the phasers Spock and Kirk were always playing with on Start Trek. The razor has the distinction of clearing itself while it juices up. Furthermore it is waterproof and can be used even in the shower. A trimmer keeps those unruly moustache hairs in place as well.
If you always wanted your own robot then you should check out the tiny chatty one called the i-SOBOT. It is too cool to waste on children. This robot comes with a remote but you won’t want to use it. It is much better to control it with voice commands. You can also get it to string together any of its eighteen programmed moves into a custom series of combo. This little amusing robot does everything – from playing air guitar to celebrating a field goy.
Have you ever wanted a picture that moves just like you see in movies like Blade Runner and Harry Potter. The technology is here. You can now get the LG portable DVD Player Picture frame which combines a DVD player with a picture frame. This I a slim device that can look quite ordinary on a desk but it can cycle through many digital snapshots. It also doubles in duty as a portable DVD player for the office.
How long has it been since you have heard anyone talk about a Sony Walkman. Surpise. Surprise. The Sony Walkman is not dead. The Sony Walman NWZS7e6FB is a 4GB music and video player that rivals the quality of Zones and iPods. A long time ago a Walkman meant something that played cassette tapes. Now it is a state of the art digital player that has it all – even the super sophisticated noise cancelling ear buds that make listening such a pleasant experience. These units also have great sound.
The newest Sony Walkman also boasts nifty SensMe channels that group the songs in your collection according to mood and energy. Who knew that such a clunky old relic from the seventies could be so intuitive, contemporary and unique.

Kids today can be kind of demanding. The talking Furby is already “oh so yesterday.” And that little white dog that dances to your iPod. Practically obsolete.
If you are looking for a new robotic pet for your kid then consider getting a Uglobe Pleo. This is a cyber pet dinosaur that walks, eats, and honks. It is made out of green plush and is a seriously advanced toy. It responds to touch, voices and will explore surroundings on its own. It will even act like a dinosaur watchdog in your home. It is not cheap at $400 but it is quite an impressive techno pet.
Remote controlled helicopters are also very passé. This year the toy of choice is the Flytech Bladestar which is a flying machine that can be controlled with a remote or just set free to fly around your home. It has sensors so it does not crash into the walls or ceiling. If you own two you can even have dogfights in the air with them. It could be a lot of fun watching these durable well made electronic toys crash into each other and into the walls!
If you want something more traditional then consider Elmo. The Fisher Price Elmo used to warm our hearts by cackling when it was tickled. Now the highly evolved Muppet does things like stand, sing, sit, wave, tell stories and play games. One of the most adorable things he does is fall down and asks for help. Of course he also still loves you so very much which is his signature line from over a decade ago.
The Flip Ultra is another good gift for young people because it is a so simple, durable and easy to use. Basically it s an inexpensive camcorder. It might be a good idea to teach youngsters those video making skills early in life…
This camera is impressive because it has a built in memory. It stores an hour of video easily. Although it does not have what you would call a stellar quality it is quite satisfying in terms of quality for your kids. They can watch quick clips online or share the mini movies they shot online.
There is also built in software that allows your kids to easily edit what they shot and post to sites like YouTube or MySpace which of course is all the rage these days.
If you are into the toys from yesterday and in particular the Star Wards stuff you can get a Millennium Falcon. This is something that a lot of adults have coveted since they were kids and many of us would have sold our souls to the Devil to get their paws on one.
Hasbro has made a hi-tech update of the Falcon spaceship that has an electronic engine, voice clips from the films, a cockpit that lights up and many other bells and whistles. Furthermore you can seat up to eighteen of the company’s action figures including Hans Solo, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca in its cockpit.

The new president of the United States, Barack Obama, is very much associated with technology. He will be famous for using gadgets by the end of his reign as President.
For one thing he has confessed to being addicted to his Black Berry. He wears it in a holster like a weapon on his belt. He is rarely seen without out it but because it is too tempting of a target for hackers and foreign spies it would not be surprising if it was taken away from him. Also the laws in the Unitized States require that the president’s correspondence be archived in a special official record. Basically he may not be allowed to use his Blackberry email.
It also seems that he uses a Microsoft Zune when he works out. The president was spotted using one of these at a local gym by a blogger on the internet. This surprised most of the American public because they figured he would use an iPod like everyone else. Of course the end result of this was a statement actually issued by an Obama spokesman that the player the president actually had in hand was an iPod.
He is also supposed to be a Mac guy when it comes to computers. You don’t normally see electronic devices in the White House but with this president you well. The tradition is that the President always uses the telephone and paper. However Obama seems intent on making addresses on YouTube and updates on the popular microblogging service known as Twitter.
He hopes to be the first president to use a Mac Book in the Oval Office. Having any computer at all in there will definitely be setting a precedent.
Obama is also dealing with big issues publicly to do with high definition television (HDTV). The U.S. is scheduled to switch to all digital television broadcasts text months which means that owners of old school analog television sets will need a government subsidized converter box to keep tuning in. Obama is urging congress to put of the switch because he is concerned that not enough of the American population is ready for the switch. In fact, it is likely that Obama is right when he says that most of the American people have no idea what does not define HDTV nor do they have a realization of how it may affect their television viewing.
There is also going to be Nintendo Wii in the white house. It won’t be allowed in the Oval office but it may be something that his daughters will be playing with in the residential quarters. The president is rumored to be best at playing the bowling game that is featured on Wiki. It is one way for the president to work off some stress and get some exercise.
