In the land of gourmet food tasting it is all about the wine and cheese and that is possibly why there are so many gadgets on the market having to do with wine tasting, opening wine bottles and letting wine breathe so it is at its best when you drink it.

There have been a lot of developments in infrared thermometers in general but one of the latest applications is the Infrared Wine Thermometer. If you do not want to stick a thermometer in your three hundred dollar bottle of wane you can eliminate contact by simply pointing the hand held device at your bottle and it will tell you the temperature of the contents. This retails for about forty bucks.

If you have a large collection of wine bottles you might want to invest in an Intelliscanner. The Intelliscanner allows you to simply record the barcode on a bottle of wine for automatic identification of the bottle. All you have to do is point the device at the bottle and you will be proved with details like the name, varietal, winery, country, type, color, and region. You can then download the information to your PC where the Intelliscanner software to will calculate optimal maturity periods (so you know when the wine is at its most delicious to drink) and track multiple bottles on a custom grid. You can also arrange your wine collection on it so that it is like a virtual replica of your own wine cellar. You will always know what wine is what, what is ready to drink and what wine goes best with what you will be having for dinner tonight.

Similar is the sommelier which is an interactive comuter wine guide for the home wine cellar. This is software that you play on your personal computer that allows you to organize data for any bottle of wine that you buy or collect. This is touch-screen technology that tells you everything you need to know about that wine you are about to drink including the age, its peak and its price. It is also, obviously a helpful device when it comes to giving you information about wine you are about to buy.

Want to carry ten thousand wine ratings and reviews in your pocket. Then the Wine Master is your answer. This looks like a little pocket PC and it contains the reviews, info about food and wine pairings, a glossary of wine speak and info about brands, types of wines, grape varieties, countries, ratings and price. This device is handy to carry to the wine story but also to restaurants where you can find out just how much a bottle of wine has been marked up for your consumption.

The world of hairdressing is a roaring makeup when it comes to developing new technology. The latest is the the Laser Hair Brush.

This a hair brush that comes complete with dual LED and laser technology. It provides a bit of a scalp massage which is supposed to prevent hair loss and balding. The manufacturers claim that the dual Low Level Laser Technology (LLLT) and LED stimulating therapy “…provide the much needed light energy required for healthy hair.” The thirty six LEDs on it help penetrate the scalp with light and it is powered by two AA batteries. It is supposed to have an energy life of about two years.

In order for the laser hair brush to prevent balding you are supposed to use it for eight to fifteen minutes a session three times a week. The inventors say that within eight to sixteen weeks you will see results. This unit is available online for about two hundred bucks.

A similar electronic brush that is supposed to stimulate the scalp and therefore encourage hair growth is called the Vibrating Hair Brush. It vibrates just like a vibrator and costs about twenty four bucks online.

One of the most interesting of hair dresser gadgets to come along is called the Flowbee Hoover Haircut. This device is a vacuum that hoovers our hair to cut it. You might have seen this thing on television and thought it was a joke but apparently it wokrs very well.

All you have to do is select the spacers that you wish to use in order to standardize what length you wnat to cut your hair. You then attach the spacer to your Flowbee vacuum hair cutter. Remarkably this thing works on all lengths of hair. You then attaché it to your HOOVER vaccum cleaner. The manufacturer claims that it will attach to ninety percent of Hoover vacuum cleaners that have been made. However you can also buy a special Flowbee Hoover called the Super Vac that will work perfectly (and noisily) the the Flowbee haircutting attachment.

Basically you hover this thing over the person’s head until their hair stands straight up on their head and then you start snipping. It retails online for a bout forty dollars and it might be worth it just for the humor of watching someone get their hair cut while it is standing straight up in the air like a fright wig.

Wierdly you can also use this on animals as long as you only use the special pet attachment that comes with it and provided that the fur on your pet’s coat is not matted. Your pet should also not be smaller than your Hoover attachment…it is not recommended for animals like gerbils and hamsters!

If you are a diver then you will appreciate all of the new gadgets that are on the market to help make your experiences in water more high tech, safer and joyful in general.

An interesting development in terms of cleaning goggles are magnets called Scuba Diving Mask Fog Wipers. This fog wiper is a manual device that allows the user to slide a magnet on the outside of the glass, causing an inside magnet to move in unison and wipe off fog. This safe and gentle product works even with prescription lens masks. It is also works well on professional dive helmets, and fire fighter masks.

These fog wipers are a treasure because they help conserve air and do not contain chemicals. You get a clear view while keeping cold or contaminated water away from your face at the same time. It also will not wash off like the traditional anti-fog solutions. It is a great anti- fog solution of diver’s masks at eight bucks or less in cost online.

If you are active in water, you are going to get wet. If you are tired of always having a wet towel then the Speedo Chamois Towel is the answer. You just wring it out and it is dry in seconds. It is made of highly absorbent cotton based fiber and cotton acrylic. It also folds up very small so it is easy to take on a trip. It is a deal for only twelve bucks at most places that sell Speedo stuff online.

Another great gadget is very simple and it is amde by Sea-Cure. This is a wide neoprene pad that can be used to attach your diving goggles to the back of your head. It almost looks like a very light oval shaped round pillow. Straps leave indents and can hurt your head. This is much more comfortable and also a little more protective for your head than the average one inch wide strap that is used by divers.

Not too many of us live by a deep blue Carribean sea. This is where a waterproof wallet can come in handy. One of the best is called PakPak. This is an award winning waterproff walletfrom Denko which you can swim, surf and dive in. It will keep you money dry up to 180 feet and it comes with an eight year warranty. It also comes with belts so you can fixt it to either your neck, waist or arm with a great deal of ease.

This little wallet that retails for twenty five bucks on most places online has been through a ton of torture tests. It has been torture tested in a washing machine, durable tested ten thousand times for opening and closing and sun tested for ninety days in the Kalahri desert. However as safe as it seems the manufacturers do not want you to put your passport in it.
