Homage to Neon Car Lights

Neon car lights aren’t for everybody. Although you sometimes do see the occasional guy in his forties going through a mid life carriage with these neon tubes attached to the undercarriage of his car you are more likely to find them casting their eerie light beneath the cars of adolescents and males in their early twenties. Neon car lights have become one of those almost kitsch custom car accessories that screams that the driver is compensating for a lack of real machismo. This is because neon car lights are so showy.  Not only do they scream “Look at me!” they also scream ‘Arrest me!” as studies have shown that police are more likely to pull over a vehicle that has neon car lights. They symbolize a certain type anti-authoritarian attitude and are also usually accompanied by neighborhood traumatizing sound systems with pounding sub woofers.

Still, some consider neon car lights to be a work of art. People who customize both old and contemporary cars are especially fond of them because they give a car a kind of tacky drama. However even though they seem like they might be quite easy to install they actually are not and might be best left up to a professional, especially if their warranty is voided by do-it-yourself attempts.

One of the biggest obstacles to installing neon car lights successfully is their positioning. As these are glowing lights, and not bright lights, they have to be positioned in a way that does not allow any of the undercarriage to block out their light.  This means that they must be installed slightly below yet level with the undercarriage, which is apparently easier said then done.  However if you position the neon tubes to low you risk damaging them on speed bumps and on gravel roads.  The upshot of all this is that if you have a car with a low undercarriage it is probably a waste of money to install neon lights on it no matter how cool it looks.

Your only other option is to never drive the car on high ground or on a gravel road, which is often exactly what happens to show cars that get customized with neon lights for auto exhibitions.

If you are going to install the neon car lights beneath your car all by yourself you are probably well advised to purchase a neon car lights installation kit. These are special under car kits that come with uniquely designed mounting brackets that allow you to rotate and position the neon tubes so that you can direct their light wherever you want. This can also help create interesting light effects besides the typical direction of the neon glow towards the pavement. If you have this type of mounting bracketing kit you can also direct the neon car lights to create a glow that extends out the sides of the vehicle, far in front of it or far behind it like an inverse shadow.  Another good thing about neon car light kits like this is that they are meant for self-installation so your warranty is not voided if you try to install it yourself.

Laptop Computer Case Designs

Whatever your taste is in fashion there is a laptop computer case out there for you. You can get them in leather, in wild prints, in plastic crates on wheels and as backpacks. Your choices are pretty much limitless, especially if you go shopping for one on line where the sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to finding all kinds of computer cases.

Before you buy a laptop computer case there are some things about your lifestyle and also about your computer that you should keep in mind.  You will need to choose one that accommodates the size, thickness and weight of your computer as well as any accessories that you want to haul around with it. You need to decide if you prefer to pull something on wheels, hold it like a purse or sling it over your back.  For instance if you have a back problem you are probably better pulling something on wheels then slinging it over your back. If you constantly wear a business suit a laptop computer case that looks like a briefcase might be more appropriate.

If you are a business person who travels a lot then you might want to consider putting your computer on wheels.  These rolling laptop computer cases comes in either hard cover or soft cover.  If you are student or somebody who likes to walk to work then you might be happy putting your laptop on a backpack. If you are a commuter who likes to work on a bus or subway then you might want to have it some kind of hand held briefcase style laptop computer case that makes it easy to access. If you are not buying a hard polyurethane case then look for one that has lots of backing or padding so that it can be protected from knocks and bangs. If you do end up buying one made out of fabric you should also make sure that it is water resistant.

A really well designed laptop computer case will have lots of pockets and sleeves to keep things like paper, pens, cell phones, books, battery chargers, batteries and business cards.  If you are going to carry your entire office with you it might also be a good idea to buy a style that has a secure lock on it. These types tend to only be available in the briefcase style laptop computer case. In fact the more that your laptop computer looks like an every day briefcase the less attractive it will look to thieves.

Sometimes it is a good idea to buy a laptop computer case that is manufactured by the company that you bought it from. This is especially recommended if there is something unusual about the laptop’s shape. Still this is a bad idea if you live in an area where street theft is common as these types of laptop computer cases often have the company’s logo on them somewhere. This indicates immediately to a thief that there is a valuable piece of electronic equipment inside that should be stolen.

One of the most famous gadgets ever invented was the Apple Laptop Computer.

The apple laptop computer is slightly different than its PC both in look and price. In general an apple laptop computer is a lot more expensive and it can access less programs on the Internet. Still in terms of being a user-friendly laptop nothing beats an apple laptop computer.  The best thing about them is they never get viruses, which means that your apple laptop computer never crashes like a PC.

The first apple laptop computer was known as the Powerbook and was sold by Apple Computer (now known as just Apple Inc.) from 1991. Since it’s inventions this apple laptop computer has gone through several major reincarnations.  Often the apple laptop computer had innovative features that would later be standard on all types of personal computers. The Powerbook was disbanded in 2006 and replaced by the Intel-based MacBook and MacBook Pro. Despite the big change inside, this newer apple laptop computer still looks a lot like the old Powerbooks.

The most groundbreaking of the early apple laptop computers were launched in 1991 and included the low-end PowerBook 100, the more powerful PowerBook 140, and the high end PowerBook 170. These machines were distinguished by their compact dark grey cases, use of a trackball, and the clever positioning of the keyboard, which left room for a wrist to rest.  These much-imitated machines were successful and captured 40% of all of the laptops sold on the market.

In 1992, the innovative Apple Computer company released a hybrid portable/desktop computer, the PowerBook Duo. This was a very thin and lightweight  Apple laptop computer with a minimum of features that could be inserted into a docking station to provide the system with extra video memory. This is one of very few machines by apple that did not sell before.  The PowerBook 5300 did not do too well either as it was one of the first laptop computer designs to use the flammable lithium ion batteries and word got around that it could burst into flames. The unit did not really survive this bad publicity.

Apple recovered from the 5300 debacle in 1996 and 1997 by introducing three new PowerBooks: the PowerBook 1400, intended to replace the 5300 as a general-purpose PowerBook; the PowerBook 2400, that is a slim version of the PowerBook Duo; and the never experienced before luxury model PowerBook 3400. The PowerBook 1400 and 3400 were in fact the first PowerBooks ever to include an internal CD drive. This was quickly followed by the G3, G4 and G5 notebooks which were powerful computers that also served as entertainment centers with inbuilt DVD players, cameras and graphic features that are still not rivaled by anyone else.

In October 2005, the two higher-end PowerBooks were upgraded with higher-resolution displays and faster 533 MHz DDR2 (PC2-4200) memory. The SuperDrive is now standard equipment on apple laptop computers. If you are interested in buying these state of the art apple laptop computers the best place to purchase them is probably the apple website or at a qualified retailer.
