Here is a look at four really cool gadgets that have come out onto the market later.

The first gadget is right out of the movies? Remember in Star Wars when R2D2 plays out the holographic images of Princess Leia? This is exactly what the R2D2 Robot does. You’re able to slide a DVD in this robot and it projects images onto a wall.

The robot’s name is Artoo and it has the ability to screen movies. It also has an iPod dock, connections for game consoles, audio and video in/out ports, an integrated DVD/CD-player, memory card slots and a very sleek looking Millennium Falcon remote.

Another great gadget has been created for mobile phones by Telstra. It enables you to scan a barcode and decipher all of its information. For example you can scan a business card and it will link you to a video clip providing more information on the company.

Telstra customers can simply point their mobile phone cameras at the specially designed barcodes, known as Telstra mobile codes, to access different information including weather updates and naps.

This is the first time in the world that barcode readers have been automatically installed on mobile phones for free. Several phone companies all across the world are conspiring to make this experience of reading bar codes universal and standardized.

The third cool gadget has been developed by Hewlett Packhard. It is a Touch Smart computer that is solely activated using a touch screen. It is so efficient it does not even have a keyboard.

The new touch screen you can activate information just by touching the screen. It provides access to family schedules, TV, music, movies and written messages.

The TouchSmart is operated with a single finger and includes two optical sensors at the top of the screen to track your finger.

The fourth neato object is a scale that measures body fat, body water, muscle mass and bone mass as well as working as a daily calorie predictor and health status monitor.

Developed by Tri-Fitness the calorie predictor can determine your individual calorie needs based on both your actual weight and ideal weight.
