Nitro vehicles are great toy gadgets. What boy or man is not fascinated by a nitro truck. In fact you can get just about any kind of vehicile as a nitro toy including dump trucks, garbage trucks, tow trucks and firetrucks.
The nice thing about nitro truck toys is that they can be very realistic looking. Many have operational moving parts and the insides of the cards can be very realistic as well. Many of these model trucks have everything that a big truck does. They have doors that open and close and dumpsters that tilt.
You can even get trucks with music players in them that really play MP3s that you insert inside them. These glitzy little trucks also come with flashing lights, working headlights and interior lights that are just like the larger real life thing. No wonder they are so gratifying to collect
Still this type of toy truck can be frustrating to operate, because of they have not throttle. This causes them to lurch all over the place as you are using the remote control. The truck can be attached by a remote control with a wire or be completely wireless and radio controlled.
The difference between nitro powered toys and other ones that they can reach higher speeds. However the lack of throttle causes a lot of torque that can easily tip the truck right over if you are trying to accelerate it in anyway. This is particularly true if you are operating the nitro truck on rough off-road terrain so it is best to operate it on asphalt or pavement.
When we are talking about nitro rc trucks we are referring to toy vehicles that are powered by nitromethane-methanol internal combustion engines and by wireless or wired remote control units.
These nitro rc trucks have been around a while. These small, nitromethane-powered engines originally entered the market in the 1940s just in time for the atomic age. Remotely operated cars, helicopters and trucks were one of the most popular toys to be found under the Christmas tree in the 1950s and are still popular with both kids and adults alike.
Over the years there have been many manufacturers of these remotely controlled trucks including El-Gi (Elettronica Giocattoli), Associated Electrics, Thorp, Dynamic, Taurus, Delta, Tamiya, Scorpion and Schumacher Racing. All are collector’s items at this point. That is because this type of toy tends to get obsolete so fast!
